Miss Universe 2013 Is Miss Venezuela Gabriela Isler

Crocus City Hall, Moscow, Russia witnessed the crowning of Miss Universe 2013. And the title went to Miss Venezuela Gabriela Isler.

Gabriela beat eight five other contestants from around the globe to be crowned Miss Universe 2013 at a specular ceremony. Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo of USA crowned the new beauty queen Miss Venezuela Gabriela Isler, thus crashing India’s hope to get the crown home.

The panel of eight judges were Chef Nobu, Tara Lipinski, television personality Carol Alt, supermodel-turned-author Anne V, one of the pageant sponsors Farouk Shami, pioneering designer of U-BOAT watches Italo Fontana, iconic Russian popstar Philip Kirkorov and Aerosmith’s front man Steven Tyler.

Mel B (America’s Got Talent) and Thomas Roberts hosted the finale of the beauty pageant.

The top ten contestants at the 62nd edition of Miss Universe beauty pageant were: Miss Brazil, Miss Dominic Republic, Miss Ecuador, Miss Great Britain, Miss India, Miss Philippines, Miss Spain, Miss Ukraine, Miss USA and Miss Venezuela

The top five finalists were: Miss Brazil, Miss Ecuador, Miss Philippines, Miss Spain and Miss Venezuela

Miss India Manasi Moghe made it to the top 10 but failed to make it to the final five.

With the start of the finale, top sixteen finalists were announced, followed by top contestants walking the ramp in red and black colour swimsuit created by Yamamay Swimwear.

The swimwear round was followed by announcement of top 10 contestants, who hit the ramp in their beautiful evening gown.

Last year’s winner Olivia Culpo dazzled on the stage wearing the million dollar swimsuit encrusted with emeralds, rubies and diamonds. The million dollar swimsuit by Yamamay has travelled from Milan to Moscow with armed guards.

The current Miss Universe title holder will also get an opportunity to wear Yamamay’s million dollar swimsuit.
