[tps_footer]We might not see Vivek Oberoi a lot on screen after ‘Krishh 2′, but he surely is quite busy with the social causes he supports. He has always been very outspoken about his wishes and desire regarding the society, and has often proved to be quite influential in his works. He has inspired many and helped people in need with his generosity.
Yesterday, we saw Vivek at a charity event in Mumbai during which, he openly described his views about saving girl children born by mothers into prostitution. He openly talked about their bleak future, and his desires to help and rescue them. This event sure was a noble cause, and many stars came to his event to show their support and pay respect towards the society.
The prime attraction and the chief guest of the evening was Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Mr. Devendra Fadnavis. The audience and press present at the event were delighted to see Madhuri Dixit and Ranbir Kapoor at the function. Ranbir happily posed for the camera, and was seen interacting with kids present there. The children tied rakhis on his hand as a symbol of faith and love.
The event was abuzz with many big names and faces among which we spotted Neeta Ambani, Mary Kom, Amy Jackson and Anu Malik. Vivek’s parents Suresh and Yashodhara Oberoi were also present during the function. The pretty wife Priyanka Oberoi was seen in tow with her Husband throughout the event. We loved the blue ethnic wear that Mrs. Ambani wore to the event. Amy looked ravishing in the off-white peach gown.
Actor and philanthropist Vivek Oberoi in the year 2009 started Project Devi, that worked towards empowering women and protecting their rights. The actor also did extensive work under “The Banyan” that helped women suffering from mental illnesses.
Under his personal foundation, the Yashodhara Oberoi Foundation, Vivek Oberoi over the years has done tireless work for “the girl child”, going out of his way to travel to remote corners of the country, and personally interact with girls and women who have faced challenging times and emerged stronger.
