Rani Mukerji essaying the role of Shivani Shivaji Roy, a cop in the film, came in a look that was more western and stayed away from her usual women’s wear.
Mardaani is grounded to a real life child trafficking racket once operational in Mumbai. From the trailer, it is evident that many of Delhi locales have been used in the background, communicating that the girl Pyaari, for whom Shivani Shivaji Roy gets into action.
