[tps_footer]Riteish Deshmukh is all set for his Marathi debut with Lai Bhari. After visiting the Vithal Mandir in Mumbai, to seek blessings, Riteish Deshmukh hosted a special screening of the film for MNS supremo Raj Thackeray and his wife Sharmila Thackeray.
Lai Bhari is shot and made in Maharashtra and who better than Raj Thackeray to grace the evening. Also spotted at the special screening was Sanjay Kapoor and Sharad Kelkar.
Sharad Kelkar, who plays the baddie in the film, said: “It is a total entertainment masala film. We have worked really hard for it and I hope the viewers will like it. Everyone at the screening loved it. Fingers crossed.”
Not to forget, Salman Khan is also making his Marathi debut with this film. Yes, he is doing a small cameo in the film. Lai Bhari is the story of Mauli, a rowdy young man who takes it upon himself to defeat injustice.
Lai Bhari is directed by Nishikant Kamat who has directed Hindi films such as Mumbai Meri Jaan and Force. The acclaimed Dombivli Fast was the first Marathi film he had directed in 2005.
The films stars Radhika Apte, Sharad Kelkar, Tanvi Azmi and Riteish Deshmukh, and will release on July 11, 2014 all over Maharashtra with English subtitles.
Riteish’s previous Marathi film Yellow as producer, was also released with English subtitles. According to Riteish, he wants every person in the State to be able to watch the movie even if they don’t understand the language. Hence the decision to introduce English subtitles.
