MUMBAI: One has seen several war films over the years. From ‘Border’ to ‘Lakshya’, all had themes infusing a sense of patriotic fervor. ‘War Chhod Na Yaar’ directed by debutant Faraz Haider, is a step ahead of the genre of war films.
‘War Chhod Na Yaar’ is India’s first war comedy, a situational spoof on issues so serious. Taking the cliché India-Pakistan war zone, the makers have woven a situational comedy against the backdrop of a war situation.
At the trailer and music launch of the film, the stars of the film were at their funny best. Actors Jaaved Jaaferi and Sharman Joshi said, ”No One wants war, its time to make peace!”
Soha Ali Khan, who last played a reporter in ‘Mumbai Meri Jaan’, has a humorous angle in ‘War Chhod Na Yaar’, where she plays a war reporter.
‘War Chhod Na Yaar’ will release on 11 October.
