[tps_footer]Akshay Kumar was recently spotted outside Nido Restaurant in Bandra, Mumbai along with wife Twinkle Khanna. Akshay invited some friends over for dinner and was seen having a tete-a-tete with them.

One can now stop raving about his new salt and pepper look because he is sporting a beard for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Gabbar.

Akshay is upbeat about the film and wrote on Twitter, “Starting the New Year, with a New Movie, Gabbar.  A new look and by God’s Grace lots of Luck!! Wish me luck.”

On the first day of the shoot, Akshay had a surprise visitor on the sets. It was none other than his friend Karisma Kapoor, with whom he shares a great rapport.

It was a surprise for Akshay when Karisma met up with him on the first day of the shoot. They have always been close friends. Another common thread happens to be Designer Shabina Khan, who happens to be the co-producer of Gabbar, along with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and is close to both Kareena as well as Karisma.

It’s interesting to note that Karisma had visited him on the first day of Rowdy Rathore’s (2012) shoot as well and that film is one of Akshay’s biggest hits till date.

Nobody minds a good coincidence like this if Gabbar goes on to become a big hit like Rowdy Rathore due to Karisma’s presence or anything else, especially since she is very close to Akshay and Shabina. Kareena will feature in a special song in Gabbar along with Akshay.

Gabbar, a remake of the hit Tamil film Thuppakki and his co-star in the film is Shruti Haasan, who underwent an appendix surgery earlier this week, has resumed work.

Shruti too is very excited about this film and tweeted, “Back in Mumbai and back to shoot.  Bye – Bye Appendix. Hello New Year.”

Also, if all goes well, then Sunil Grover, our very own Gutthi, who recently made an exit from Comedy Nights With Kapil will have an important role to play in the film.

Here’s wishing Akshay Kumar and the entire team of Gabbar all the best and hoping that this film too will do as well as Rowdy Rathore did at the Box-Office.[/tps_footer]
