MUMBAI: The ‘Chennai Express’ is surely unstoppable. New records, new benchmarks – the ‘breaking’ spree is still on.
On Wednesday, November 06, 2013, Shah Rukh Khan and Rohit Shetty celebrated this moment of glory with Zee TV in Mumbai. As we had reported on November 02, 2013: Zee TV arrived on the number one spot, pushing Star TV to the second and Colors to third thanks to ‘Chennai Express’.
Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Chennai Express’ premiered on Zee TV. Rohit Shetty’s magic, blended with the ‘King of Bollywood’, along with Deepika Padukone; ‘Officially the Queen of Box Office’ – made approximately 19.5 million people glued to their TV sets.
Shah Rukh Khan, like always was full of his addictive charm at the event. SRK and Rohit Shetty marked the beginning of the celebrations by cutting a cake. Deepika Padukone too attended the event.
‘Chennai Express’ was released worldwide on August 09, 2013. And since then, it has just not stopped breaking and re-breaking records. In fact the collections of the latest release ‘Krrish 3’ are being compared to ‘Chennai Express’
This blockbuster has not only managed to cast its spell on its viewers but has also helped Zee TV get a fresh start. The channel was in a lean phase, and this is just a new beginning for them.
