MUMBAI: A lot has been said recently over Shah Rukh Khan’s supposed surrogate baby. Media reports say that the baby could be born in July. Meanwhile, it has come to light that another baby has entered Shah Rukh Khan’s life.
The child is a male delivered by Namita Chibber, Gauri Khan’s sister-in-law. She was admitted to Breach Candy hospital on 4 June, 2013, under the care of Dr. Indira Hinduja.
Sources say that Shah Rukh Khan approached Dr. Indira Hinduja a few months ago to discuss the possibility of assisted delivery. Dr. Indira Hinduja delivered India’s first test-tube baby in 1986, and is a respected doctor in the field of assisted reproductive health.
The baby was born premature at seven months and is currently under the care of paediatrician Dr. Cyrus Contractor in the hospital’s neo-natal intensive care unit (NICU).
According to family members of patients in the hospital, Gauri Khan was seen visiting the baby quite often. Shah Rukh Khan too was spotted in the NICU last Tuesday when he visited the hospital for a follow-up visit for his shoulder injury.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that the baby’s name is Abram, a Hebrew variant of the name Abraham which means ‘father of multitudes’. Sources suggest that the baby may be kept in the NICU till he gains weight and is deemed to be healthy, even though Namita Chibber was discharged on Friday.
The discharge form, on the other hand, allegedly carries Shah Rukh Khan’s private number instead of Namita Chibber or her husband’s number. Shah Rukh Khan is surely ensuring the child’s well-being to the hilt.
So far there has been no response from the actor himself about the supposed surrogacy issue. At promotions for his forthcoming film ‘Chennai Express’, he has been talking only about the film. His fans would hope for the star himself to clear out any issues regarding the alleged surrogacy and the new addition to the family as well.
