Condoling the passing away of the Park Street rape survivor, who died of encephalitis, a “shocked” and “deeply distraught”, bollywood actor Aamir Khan said he was overwhelmed by her courage to stand up against all odds.

He also said “I am shocked and deeply distraught on hearing that she has passed away. In the brief time that I spent with her, I was overwhelmed by her positive spirit, her sense of self, her dignity, her self respect, her humility, and her courage to stand up against all odds.”
“I was inspired by the love and humanity that she had in her heart. In her tragically short life She has given us a lot. I feel grateful that I could make her acquaintance.”
“ Everyone who has had the good fortune of receiving her love and respect will miss her deeply. My thoughts are with her family. You will always be in our hearts.”
The rape survivor was a single mother of two girls, was gang-raped on Park Street, one of Kolkata’s busiest streets, after she came out of a night club.
The police has cracked the case and arrested the attackers. Five of them are charged by the offence by the court and three are behind bars.
