MUMBAI: In support of cervical cancer, Bollywood turned up at the ‘Lions Gold’ Awards held in Mumbai last night. We caught a glimpse of many a B’town celebrity at this social awards night.

The event was star studded and the awards turned out to be most coveted at the 19th Annual ‘Lions Gold’ Awards here in Mumbai. In it’s 19th successive year, the ‘Lions Gold Awards’ were held to honour stalwart from different walks of life, who were recognized for their outstanding contributions in their respective field. The prestigious ‘Lions’ trophy awards were broadly classified in three categories: Films, Television and General.

Seen at this prestigious, social impact awards were a host of Bollywood celebrities, including Karan Johar’s protégées Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt (of ‘Student of The Year’ fame), looking gorgeous in formal wear. Alia chose a short white mini dress for the occasion, while her hunky co-star Varun was clad in a suave blue shirt, blue jeans and brown leather jacket.

We also spotted yesteryear superstar and father of TV czarina Ekta Kapoor, Mr. Jeetendra at the event. The dancing star carried his years lightly, and looked fitter and younger than ever in a navy blue ensemble. Along with him, we caught glimpses of music director duo Sajid Wajid, of ‘Dabangg 2’ fame, on screen baddie Mukesh Tiwari (who’d picked up an award at the ‘Lions Gold’ awards no less), musician and singer extraordinaire Sonu Nigaam (in a casual black tee, jeans and a newsboy cap).

TV’s comedy queen and ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’ ex contestant Bharti Singh also made an appearance. Bharti was upto her usual funny antics, and was seen hugging the ‘Lions Gold’ trophy intently. Her career seems to have picked up, and the lady is much in demand at many comedy shows and awards night, for her comic relief.
