Ayushmann Khurrana’s upcoming film, ‘Anek,’ was scheduled to release in theatres on May 13, 2022. It got delayed to prevent a clash with Ranveer Singh’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar. The film’s release date is pushed back by two weeks, and will now release in theatres on May 27, 2022, owing to the release of Ranveer Singh’s ‘Jayantibhai Jordaar’ on May 13.
According to Akshaye Widhani, CEO of Yash Raj Films, the decision will enable both films to gain a fair share of audience attention. “Producers Bhushan Kumar and Anubhav Sinha have been generous in rescheduling the release of ‘Anek’ to May 27th.” “With this move, both ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ and ‘Anek’ will get their due share of attention from the audience,” said Widhani.
YRF has also opted to include Anek’s trailer with Jayeshbhai Jordaar. Kumar stated that it is critical for the film business to help one another while it recovers from the pandemic losses. Sinha stated that they want spectators to appreciate both films in a “spaced out manner.” “A lot of hard work and planning goes into the making of a film and by that principle, it deserves undivided attention. We were happy to shift the release of ‘Anek’ by a few days so that audiences can now enjoy both films in a spaced-out manner.”
