Bindaas Birthday Girl Anushka Sharma And Her Carefree Ways

04[tps_footer]Anushka Sharma is probably cut from the same cloth that famed Bollywood bubbly girl Preity Zinta once was. Anushka’s inimitable energy and cute girl-next-door vibe have helped her carve a niche for herself in Bollywood, today.

The Bangalore girl, who hails from an army family, was born on May 01, 1988, in Ayodhya, U.P. Her father, being an army officer, moved the family around a lot, with the result that Anushka and her elder brother Karnesh, spend their formative years all over the countryside. Anushka’s family then settled down in Bangalore, where she studied in Mount Carmel College, the same one that so many other Banglore-Mumbai girls went to.

Anushka, like so many before her, was told she was extremely pretty while growing up, and that she should try her hand at modelling. She bought into their suggestions, and moved to Mumbai, to pursue a career in modelling.

Sharma admits she had no filmy aspirations, and was content with being a model for Lakme Fashion weeks, and appearing in ads for Silk and Shine, Whisper, Nathella Jewelry and Fiat. However, Bollywood came calling, when she was auditioned and selected for Yash Raj’s Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, opposite mega star Shah Rukh Khan.

Anushka couldn’t believe her luck, that she landed a role opposite SRK in her very first film. Moreover, a three film contract with YRF, saw her shoot to fame with Band Baaja Baaraat and Badmaash Company. Anushka received much critical acclaim for the former, in which she was paired with livewire debutant Ranveer Singh.

Since then, Anushka has seen many hits and misses, the most noteworthy being Patiala House, Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola and Ladies VS Ricky Bahl. However, what shines through in every film, is Anushka’s sincerity, hard work and dedication. The girl knows how to act, and isn’t afraid to push the envelope in terms of roles.

Her finest performance till date was in Yash Chopra’s final film, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, in which she was pitted once again opposite Shah Rukh Khan. The role was closest to her off-screen persona, and people wholeheartedly loved her for it. Up next, Anushka’s kitty boasts big names like Bombay Velvet opposite Ranbir Kapoor, and P.K. with Aamir Khan.

Here’s wishing the spunky Ms Sharma a very happy birthday! [/tps_footer]
