[tps_footer]Czech beauty Yana Gupta is a certified Bollywood import. The lovely lady, who celebrates her birthday today, is a former model-turned-actress, who has made a name for herself in Bollywood.
Yana began her career at the tender age of sixteen. She was initiated into modelling, when she was spotted by a local talent scout. She left her hometown for the city of Japan, where she modelled for quite a while. Her exotic good looks, and her keen learning spirit enabled her to reach the top of her game.
Yana Gupta, born as Yana, was a spiritual soul. Her quest for spirituality brought her to India. Yana spent her initial stint in the country, staying in the Osho ashram in Pune. Here, she picked up meditation, yoga and self discovery.
It was in Pune, at the Osho Meditation centre, where she met her future husband, Satyakam Gupta. The two wed almost instantly after meeting, but however this marriage was not built to last. Yana and Satyakam dovorced in 2005.
However, before her divorce, Yana tried her hand at the modelling scene in India. In 2001, she began modelling for big brands, and landed her first assignment as brand ambassador for Lakme. This got her noticed, and she was soon seen in her very first item song, in 2003.
The super hit track Babuji from the film Dum made her a household name. Her oomph and landed her many more hit songs, over the years. She was one of the most sought-after item girls in Bollywood in the early 2000’s.
Yana even danced to a couple of numbers down south- films like Manmadhan, Gharshana, Jogi and Anniyan were her highlights. In Hindi cinema, Yana performed in films like Rakht, Kaisey Kahein, Challo Dilli, Muder 2, and Stand By.
Since then, Yana has kept herself occupied with writing and television appearances. She’s written a book- How To Love Your Body And Get The Body You Love, in 2009. She’s appeared on countless Reality Television Shows too, like Fear Factor, Khatron Ke Khiladi, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, among others.
