Bollywood Pays Tribute To Rahul Dev Burman

RD Burman 12[tps_footer]June 27, 1929, the music legend Rahul Dev Burman was born and on his seventy fifty birth anniversary yesterday, Bollywood stars long with his wife Asha Bhosle remembered the music legend.

Singers, actors and directors took to twitter to pay tribute to the music maestro, who was fondly called Pancham Da.

“Remembering Pancham and those special moments in time that we shared.” stated Asha Bhosle.

Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who worked with the music director in super hit film 1942: A Love Story, paid tribute to Rahul Dev Burman by sharing a song, Kuch Na Kaho, from the same film.

Music composer Vishal Dadlani wished Panchan Da on his birthday and also shared that American rapper Timbaland is a huge fan of the late musician. “75th birthday of RD Burman, aka Pancham aka as Timbaland referred to him when he told me what a big fan he is RD Burns.” Vishal Dadlani tweeted.

Lata Mangeshkar remembered her long association with Rahul Dev Burman and stated that he died too young and too unhappy.

“For a composer as talented as Pancham to be almost jobless was a living death. Pancham was very unhappy. He would sometimes share his grief with me. I feel sad even now when I recall how cruel the industry was to Pancham just because some of his music didn’t do well,” she said while sharing how unhappy Rahul Dev Burman was during his final years.

Designer Manish Malhotra stated, “Today is the 75th birth anniversary of the legendary R.D. Burman. His music I love.”

Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar too stayed, “75 years ago today, a musical genius was born. His tunes stole our hearts & do so even now. Pancham Da, you rock! We miss you. Happy Birthday.” ‘

Other celebrities who were preset at the get together were, Sujoy Ghosh, Hansal Mehta, Debojit Saha, Monali Thakur, Shaan and Kunal Kohli.[/tps_footer]
