Bollywood Remakes We Don’t Want To See

Poster-05[tps_footer]Remakes will never die down. A retouched version of old films finds a lot of patronage in the industry and amongst audience as well. But there are certain films which should never be touched let alone be remade. Following are the film we don’t want a remake of.

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge

Can anyone recreate the magic of Raj and Simran? Or the lovely sarson ke khet? Or the famous dialogue that has become our life’s mantra ‘Ja beta…jee le apni zindagi’? Never! DDLJ is a classic and will always be the favourite romantic movie of many in India. It doesn’t need to be remade as nobody can forget this film. So why spoil the memory by retouching it? Karan Johar, please refrain from basing your Humpty Sharma’s love on DDLJ.

Maine Pyaar Kiya

We agree the title track was lift off from an English song but that doesn’t mean the people can take the leeway of remaking this classic. It was this film which taught us, ‘Ek ladka aur ladki kabhi dost nahi hotey’ and ‘Friendship mei no sorry no thank you.’ It will be sinful to remake this film because whatever you do you will fall short of give us an innocent love story. Nothing is innocent in today’s love stories.

Andaz Apna Apna

Aamir Khan and Salman Khan were very young when they did this film. And the spunk was all that was required for their roles in the film. In today’s time no one will be able to portray such role without being slapstick. Mind you, this is not a brainless comedy that you can rip off with hunk looking guys.

Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron

Jaane Bhi Do Yaroon was one of those films which knew how to be comical even though it was satirical. Naseeruddin Shah and Ravi Baswani’s perfect comic timing can leave anyone in splits even after so many years. Today, if the film gets made, hamming and toilet humour will rule the roost and spoil the fun.

Sholay

Ram Gopal Varma has already singed his hands with the remake of Sholay which was abysmally bad. That’s a lesson enough for everyone to not touch a cult like Sholay. Classic don’t get made in bulk like Salman Khan action entertainers. We don’t have to explain why people should stay away from this film.[/tps_footer]
