M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story had a huge first day collecting around Rs 20 crore nett in Hindi. There is a dubbed version in Tamil and Telugu and that has also done very well. The film has done very good business in Mumbai and South while the Central India markets also contributed very well. It is the second highest opening of the year, Sultan being the first (36.59 crore) but beating Fan (19.07 crore).
M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story grossed around 6.50 crore nett in Mumbai, 3.50 crore nett in Delhi /UP, 1.65 crore nett in East Punjab and 1.55 crore nett in Mysore.
The film’s target audience is the youth which is a great benefit. Nevertheless, the high cost of the film cannot be ignored and it might be a hindrance for its recovery. The upcoming collections of the film will now depend on the reviews.
Because the film is a biopic the performances of the actors are very important in attracting the audience. The film does not have any tough competition in its way which may lead to higher numbers.
