Their scorching chemistry had set the screens ablaze, in films like Bachna Ae Haseeno, and more recently, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. And now, the talented and good looking pair of Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are due to share screen space again, in Imtiaz Ali’s next.
At a recent media interaction, Deepika Padukone divulged that she was excited to be working again with her former beau and now “good friend” Ranbir Kapoor. She said, “Yes, a film that I’m allowed to talk about is Imtiaz Ali’s next where Ranbir (Kapoor) and I are again coming together. Imtiaz is one of my favourite directors. And Ranbir and I have given hits such as Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013) and Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008). I’m really excited to be working on yet another film with someone who is a great friend.”
However, she refused to comment on her pairing with current flame Ranveer Singh in Bajirao Mastani. “I am not allowed to say anything about Bajirao Mastani.”
Then, there is her exciting third-time-round pairing with Shah Rukh Khan, with whom she will be seen in Happy New Year.
Said a pleased Deepika Padukone, “This will be my third film with Shah Rukh (after Om Shanti Om, 2007, and Chennai Express, 2013). It’s my first with Arjun (Finding Fanny Fernandes), and it was a surreal experience working with him because we’ve been friends earlier and I’ve always known him in the capacity of a friend and now we are co-stars!”
