Deepika Padukone’s Padmavati was earlier slated to release on December 1, this year.
The Bollywood film Padmavati has become one of the most controversial films of the industry. After receiving backlash from several fringe groups of the country, the film has received support as well from the film fraternity. But sadly, this Deepika Padukone starrer film has not got its new release date yet.
Earlier, there were reports that the film might release on January 12, 2018. But now it seems to be not true. If the reports of Box Office India are to be believed, then the makers are planning to release the film in February, in the next year. And the probable date is February 9. According to their exhibition source, the overseas distributors have sent a schedule to the theatre chains of Unites States/Canada. They have stated February 9, 2018 as the release date.
Well, it would be a good time for the film to release as the week would have two holidays, namely Maha Shivratri and Valentine’s Day. But the makers might change the date looking at the amount of protests the film has already faced.
All of us know that earlier, Padmavati had to hit the theatres on December 1, this year. But because of the protests, mainly from the Rajput Karni Sena, and also because of the certification issues with CBFC, the film could not be released at that time. There were also open threats given to the actress Deepika Padukone and the director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Padmavati stars Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmini, Shahid Kapoor as his husband Rana Rawal Ratan Singh. And Ranveer Singh will be portraying the role of Alauddin Khilji. He attacks Mewar due to his desire to capture the Queen.
Coming back to the film’s release date, we hope that the film gets one soon!
