MUMBAI: Deepika Padukone, Bollywood’s surprise super hit wonder girl says she yearns to spend more quality time with her mother Ujjala, who lives in Bengaluru.
Deepika has been living in Mumbai for several years now, admits that being away from home takes its toll on her family life. “I live with my work, and my family lives in Bengaluru, so quality time is something I would love to give them,” said Deepika recently, near the occasion of Mother’s Day.
Adding that though people regard her as Daddy’s girl (her father is ace badminton champion Prakash Padukone), she and her sister have always followed in her mother’s footsteps. “Dad is a popular figure, so he’s written about more often. But in my family, we know that my mother has been more instrumental in bringing us up. From her I’ve learnt not just to live, speak and conduct myself, but also to multi task and yet be good at whatever I do,” smiles Deepika.
Deepika was recently spotted in Andheri, clad in a floral printed blazer, white tee and skinny jeans. Though she was smiling, she couldn’t quite conceal how much she misses her family when busy at work in the hustle and bustle of Mumbai.
