MUMBAI: Veteran actor Dilip Kumar, mostly known for films like ‘Mughal-e-Azam’ and ‘Devdas’, was hospitalised last evening after he complained of chest pains.
The actor is currently in Lilavati Hospital, Bandra.
His wife, Saira Banu, was with him as Dilip Kumar was admitted to the hospital.
Saira Banu said about Dilip Kumar, “He is stable, and we are praying that he recovers fully. On 13th of this month he had viral fever for one day and today he felt a little discomfort and we decided to bring him to hospital and right now he is conscious. He had undergone open heart surgery 14 years ago.”
She also said that Dilip Kumar was conscious currently. “He is very much conscious right now. My family is here to see him; his own family has also been to see him.”
The spokesperson for the hospital, Dr Naresh Trivedi, said, “Dilip Kumar has been admitted to our hospital, he is in the intensive care unit (ICU) and his condition is stable.”
