MUMBAI: Over time, the Jiah Khan suicide case has taken several turns in different directions, with an alleged suicide note being uncovered, Sooraj Pancholi’s arrest on 10 June, 2013 and his bail being denied subsequently. Pancholi, whose final bail petition will be up for review today (1 July, 2013), had reportedly sent an apology note to Jiah a while back.
Now, a letter written by Sooraj to Nafisa aka Jiah has been revealed by Jiah’s mother- Rabiya Khan.
The letter, dated 25 December, 2012 (Christmas Day), shows Sooraj in an apologetic, repentant light. He says he is “so sorry about last night” and that he was “soo embarrassed”. He goes on to say that he wants to be with her all his life, and that “you mean the world to me Naf”. He begs her not to leave him and says that he wants to be with her “forever”.
He ends the letter by saying that she completes him, and that he loves her with all his heart.
The letter, along with a few personal texts exchanged between the couple, was posted by Rabiya Khan on twitter recently. In an attempt to prove Sooraj’s alleged involvement in Jiah Khan’s suicide, Rabiya also tweeted a personal message to her departed daughter, saying: “I cry reading this every day I can not get over how much I told you to leave him.”
