Released in year 2004, Indian war drama film Lakshay directed by Farhan Akhtar won hearts with its breathtaking story. Today, the film celebrates its 11th anniversary and on this special occasion, Farhan Akhtar feels nostalgic.
The director of the film took to his official Twitter account to share his happiness and thank the armed forces of India. He tweeted along with a picture, “#11yearsofLakshya & still climbing. Salute to our armed forces and a big shout out to the entire cast & crew.”

The coming of age story with a fictionalized backdrop of the Kargil War featured Hrithik Roshan in the lead role. The star played the role of Karan Shergill, Lieutenant and later Acting Captain, who leads his team into a war against Pakistan, and brings victory to his country by defeating the Pakistani troops. The film also starred Preity Zinta, who plays the role of a journalist, and Amitabh Bachchan. Lakshya also featured Om Puri, Boman Irani and Sharad Kapoor.
Farhan Akhtar’s Lakshya was highly acknowledged for the way the story was beautifully portrayed in the film. Hrithik Roshan’s performance in the film was applauded by the moviegoers. Especially Hrithik’s dance performance in song “Main Aisa Kyun Hoon”, which won choreographer Prabhu Deva National Film Award and Filmfare Award for Best Choreography.
Lakshya holds a very special place in Farhan’s heart as it was his second directorial venture. He made his debut as a director in Bollywood with Dil Chahta Hai. On work front, Farhan Akhtar is currently busy with his upcoming film Rock On!! 2. Farhan will also be seen in his most awaited film Wazir, alongside Bollywood’s Big B Amitabh Bachchan.
