It is highly debatable and disputable whether or not the borders between two nations will ever be dissolved. By two nations we mean India and Pakistan.
But there is one love that percolates through every wall and that is Cinema. They are as crazy about Hindi films as we are and Filmistaan depicted that fabulously on screen. No wonder that the film has been declared tax free in Maharashtra.
Nitin Kakkar has directed this tale of a single binding force Bollywood between the two nations. The film opened on June 06, 2014 and was appreciated by critics and masses alike. It is unlike any border film that we have watched as there is no unnecessary chest thumping praise for India and unending charade about a maleficent Pakistan. It only shows how films can be one of the most interesting ways of bringing them together.
Filmistaan had already bagged laurels even before the film hit the theatres. It has been adjudged as the Best Feature Film in Hindi at the 60th National Film Awards 2012.
Filmistaan also bagged the Silver Crow Pheasant Award for best debut film at the International Film Festival Of Kerala and a Special Jury Mention at the 2012 Busan International Film Festival.
Here’s wishing team Filmistaan all the best!!
