Bollywood Films Where Dogs Were The Stars

Poster-Cover-Pic[tps_footer]We have stars and we adore them. We love them so much that any untoward comment about them can blw our lids. But there have been cases when our stars took a backseat and let someone else hog the limelight. No, we aren’t talking about their human co-stars but the canines. Dogs have always been a big favourite of Bollywood. There are many films which had them as catalysts to the stories. Here are some of them.

Entertainment

Akshay Kumar perhaps for the first time has let someone take away all the limelight from a film that has him in the lead. The dog in the film is equally important to the plot as much as Akshay. In fact, the makers are promoting it as a film that promotes human-dog relationship and are also banking on this to get more crowds.

Chillar Party

One stray dog and an orphan kid were enough to make a colony of kids join hands against illegal activities. Chillar Party was a regular kiddie film but the impact of it on people was huge. Stray dogs have always bore the burns of being unwanted. The thought was amazingly used.

Maa

We aren’t sure if many people know about this film but we do. Jaya Prada as the protective ghostly mother was one of a kind in Hindi films. But she wouldn’t have made it if Moti hadn’t helped her. Moti is the dog who’s the only one who could sense its mistress’s spirited presence.

Bol Radha Bol

Again not many would remember this film if you didn’t catch the many reruns on TV. Here too, the dog sniffs out the real Rishi Kapoor. It is easy to fool men but not animals.

Teri Meherbaniyaan

Here the dog takes off from where the lead hero leaves it. Jackie Shroff is the hero but he gets killed. Rest of the film completely rests on the shoulder of the dog who avenges his master’s murder. Can anyone be this loyal?

Hum Aapke Hain Koun

If today Prem and Nisha are together, it is due to Tuffy’s presence of mind. He makes a sound decision and instead of delivering the letter meant for Prem to the latter, he takes it to Rajesh. He was nothing less than godsend![/tps_footer]
