First Look: Shah Rukh Khan And Deepika Set To Rock In Happy New Year

Happy New Year

The much awaited first sneak peek of Farah Khan’s Happy New Year, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone is out and its spells class. One look at the poster and I can say that the film looks very chic and today.

Happy New Year was supposed to be Farah and King Khan’s next post Main Hoon Na, but then the project kept on getting delayed, either the script was being reworked or the casting was not in place and there were even speculations of a rift between Farah and king khan which has kept the project on hold. But then September 01, 2013 was the date when the film went on floor and is almost near completion.

Incidentally Deepika Padukone was not the first choice for the role. Actress like Sonakshi Sinha, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Parineeti Chopra and Katrina Kaif were rumoured to play the role, but then the role finally went to Deepika. At a point, John Abraham was to play one of the supporting roles but Sonu Sood replaced him.

Shah Rukh Khan is apparently essaying a role of a con artist in the film, while Deepika is in the role of a Marathi Dancer. King Khan has dyed his hair grey for the film and has been working very closely with Farah in this project, which according to her is her dream project.

Farah said, “My dream project Happy New Year takes another step towards realization with the first poster being launched today. I believe in cinema that entertains with a dream cast like this we hope it will be the most entertaining film of the year. Shah Rukh and I have had a dream partnership always and with this our third collaboration we hope it will be a very Happy New Year indeed!”

It’s incidentally become a tradition with Red Chillies to make an announcement of their films on January 02. They did that with Ra.One, then with Chennai Express and now with Happy New Year.

Shah Rukh Khan, on twitter wrote, “From today don’t ask for more, don’t expect anymore, don’t reach out to the sky, instead reach within and touch the heart. Set your love.”

“So last year ended with a Dhoom and this year promises to be a Happy New Year. Happy New Year guys. Wish you all the love and health,” Abhishek Bachchan posted.

“Wishing you all a very Happy New Year. May you achieve everything and keep rocking always. Have a great year ahead,” Sonu Sood wrote on twitter.

Happy New Year is scheduled for an October 23, 2014 release.

With so many Happy New Year wishes pouring in, we are sure this year is going to be a rocking one.
