January 31, 2014 Preity turns thirty nine and it seems to have got her zing back. Things have not been very smooth for her since a couple years now. But a failed relationship with Ness Wadia and a failed production experiment with Ishkq In Paris have not dampened her sprits.
She admits that the mess of IPL is really what distracted her from her film career. “I run even harder after I fall,” is what she states.
As for someone special in her life after Ness Wadia, a beaming Preity said, “That was over in 2009. You think I’d remain single all these years? Whatever is happening with me is good. People say I am looking happy. That’s because I am.” So now it’s our mission to discover just who it is that’s making her so happy.
She is content with the way things are currently and feels that it does not matter how the world looks at you. “It’s how you look at yourself that matters,” she says. She has great friends and a great life. As for her career, she feels she has lots more left to be explored as there is lots that she still needs to achieve.
Very few know that this talented actress is a graduate in criminal psychology. A chance meeting with director Shekhar Kapur landed her the role in Kapur’s Tara Rum Pum Pum opposite Hrithik Roshan, but unfortunately the film was canned.
However, Shekhar Kapur later recommended her to director Mani Ratnam and Preity made her acting debut in Dil Se opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the year 1998. But the film that that gave her a foothold in Bollywood was Kya Kehna in the year 2000 opposite Saif Ali Khan and Chandrachur Singh.
