Javed Akhtar was conferred the prestigious Award For Outstanding Contribution To Indian Cinema at The IIFA Awards 2013 and this year its going to be Shatrughan Sinha who will be given the same honour at Tampa Bay, Florida.
On April 26, 2014, The IIFA Awards 2014 will honour, Shatrughan Sinha with the prestigious Outstanding Contribution To Indian Cinema Award. The audience at Raymond James Stadium will witness Shatrughan Sinha receiving a standing ovation for his illustrious career in the Hindi film industry spanning over forty five years.
“It has truly been a long but fulfilling journey in the movie business and I thank IIFA for commemorating my eventful career with this prestigious award. The honour not only humbles me, but makes me feel loved by a country where cinema is the ultimate equalizer of the masses,” Shatrughan Sinha said in a statement.
Over the years, Shatrughan Sinha has earned immense fame for performances in films like Aan: Men at Work (2004), Khoon Bhari Maang (1988), Khudgarz (1987), Asli Naqli (1986), Naseeb (1981), Kranti (1981), Shaan (1980), Dostana (1980), Kaala Patthar (1979), Kalicharan (1976), Raampur Ka Lakshman (1972), Bombay To Goa (1972) and many more.
Shatrughan Sinha has essayed both positive and negative characters with similar ease and is remembered for his unconventional yet highly intense and passionate monologues and unique style of dialogue delivery.
In previous years, IIFA has acknowledged many Indian cinema legends including the late director-producer Yash Chopra, Aishwarya Rai, Shyam Benegal, Javed Akthar, Ramesh Sippy, Sharmila Tagore, Asha Parekh, Asha Bhosle and Zeenat Aman.
The 15th IIFA Weekend And Awards will be held from April 23, 2014 to April 26, 2014 at Tampa Bay, Florida. This is the first time that the awards, which go to a different city each year, will be held in the United States.
