It’s a fact that Happy New Year is making huge money. The numbers are getting registered slowly but constantly. It is perhaps the most successful film this year and when you have a winning combination of Shah Rukh and Farah Khan in a film, your expectation reach sky high. But this is also true that many have slammed the film for being outrageously stupid. Critics gave mixed reviews to it and the recent addition to HNY hate list is Jaya Bachchan, who’s son Abhishek Bachchan has been collecting rave reviews eversince the movie released.

At a literature festival, Mrs. Bachchan was talking about literature’s failure in informing current cinema. She spoke about HNY with utmost disdain. She said that HNY is the most nonsensical film she has seen in recent times. She had to watch it because Abhishek is part of it. She didn’t mince her words when she gave her after screening reaction to her son. She called him a great actor if he managed to look so stupid in front of the camera. She doesn’t like what has become of cinema today and hence doesn’t work in any.
