Prasoon Joshi is a well known Indian lyricist, screenwriter, poet and Ad Guru. He is also the current Chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification. On his 47th birthday, in an interview Prasoon talked about his journey so far and spending a quiet birthday with family. When quizzed about Manikarnika and working with Kangana Ranaut, he said, “Working with Kangana in Manikarnika has been a memorable experience. I have always been an admirer of her. I believe she holds an eminent place amongst the evergreen talent of Bollywood.”
Commenting on the controversies that have emerged of late, Joshi said, “Controversies/disputes that are out of control are extremely unfortunate, they should be avoided, a film or an actor should be adjudged on the scale of merit only”. He however feels that there is no real dispute around Manikarnika”.
Manikarnika is the magnum opus based on the life of Rani Lakshmi Bai, the hero of India’s first war of independence. After director Krish’s unavailability and given the involvement that Kangana had towards the project, the team insisted Kangana to take over the charge of the movie to make sure that it releases in time for Republic Day. Kangana has been working with full dedication in her new role and giving it her all. In a recent picture, one can see Kangana in the director’s chair completely absorbed in directing.
Recently, an action shot from the Manikarnika went viral. In that one can clearly see how Kangana Ranaut has got into the skin of the character in all seriousness. She looks every bit a fierce warrior queen she is playing. Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi will be releasing on January 25, 2019.
