A series of upcoming biopics starring Bollywood’s A-listers has become the latest trend of Bollywood and most of them are based on famous sports personalities.
Bollywood is taking keen interest in making real life stories film and the latest actress to be the part of trending biopics is Tanu Weds Manu Returns actress Kangana Ranaut. Yes, you heard it right!
Riding high on success actress Kangana Ranaut is roped in the role of warrior queen Rani Lakshmi Bai in filmmaker Ketan Mehta’s next.
According to the reports, ‘Mangal Pandey’ director Ketan Mehta has chose Kangana to play the role of Rani Lakshmi Bai and is said that the actress has already given a nod. Reportedly, the actress would require heavy under heavy one year training before the shooting of the film. The training of the film would include, horse riding, sword-fighting and other warfare skills.

Apparently, speculations are taking rounds that for General Hugh Rose’s character the makers are planning to rope in Hollywood actor Hugh Grant. Hugh Rose is the character who was appointed by the British to catch Rani Lakshmi Bai alive.
Of, course Kangana Ranaut’s character is the most powerful and important character in the film along with an important message. Rani Lakshmi Bai was said to be legendary during the rebellion at Jhansi in 1858.
Reportedly, director Ketan Mehta has confirmed that Kangana is on board. Expressing his excitement, he said that he always wanted to make the rising as a trilogy and this film will be second part of Mangal Pandey.
It is said that the shooting of the film will go on floors in mid next year and will be shot in Hindi and English simultaneously.
