While it was earlier announced that Aanand L Rai‘s Tanu Weds Manu Returns , the sequel of the 2011 blockbuster, produced by Eros International & Colour Yellow Productions was scheduled to release on May 29, 2015.The makers have now decided to pre-pone the release date, owing to the fact that the quirky romantic entertainer starring R.Madhavan and Kangana in two roles, has completed well within its schedule and is now ready to release, with a 2 week clear run.
Says a source, “While it was decided that Tanu Weds Manu Returns would release on the 29th May, the schedule was completed earlier than planned. The makers are happy with the way the film has shaped up and believe that it is ready for audiences to enjoy. Additionally, preponing the film’s release to a week earlier, allows them to have a better run at the B/O , owing to the fact that the next big ticket release will happen in June”.
