MUMBAI: Will it finally be time for two of Bollywood’s biggest names to come together on screen? Will we finally get to see the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in a blockbuster Karan Johar production?
Will we see the biggest comeback ever by a married B’town heroine, being orchestrated by the biggest director in town?
Rumour has it, that ace film director Karan Johar, who has pretty much understood the pulse of the nation, to give us hit films like ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’, and his latest teeny-bopper romance ‘Student of the Year’, is keen on remaking a 1982 classic film, ‘Bemisaal’.
Karan is bent upon remaking the 1982 classic, ‘Bemisaal’, which was a sweet film by Hrishikesh Mukherjee.
The original film starred Amitabh Bachchan, Rakhee and Vinod Mehra in lead roles. The film had some amazing, unforgettable music by music maestro, RD Burman.
Insider sources in B’town suggest that the remake craze has now hit Karan Johar too. He is keen on making this film, and has a large, stellar cast in mind! Reports say that he is keen on casting Bachchan bahu, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, in Rakhee’s role.
Aishwarya has never been cast in a Karan Johar film, so if she signs on the dotted line, this may prove to be a fresh casting coup for the hit maker.
Johar is known for his simple stories, albeit their execution is quite grand and larger-than-life.
Aishwarya was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 2010 film ‘Guzaarish’, and has not signed any film since then.
The lady has been busy being a doting mother to the newest addition to the Bachchan clan, Aaradhya, who was born last year. Aishwarya’s fans are most eager to see her make a comeback, and if it happens to be a Karan Johar film; that just may be the icing on the cake.
