Khans Or Kapoors: Who Will Rock 2014 Box Office?

This year, as we all already know, is going to be a big one for Bollywood. A massive line up of films, jostling for space, both at the ticket windows, and in the hearts of audiences, will hit the marquee. Along with the leading superstars, even newcomers have a shot at success, with their impressive films in the pipeline.

This year’s most anticipated heroes are…

Shah Rukh Khan: We mean, when is he ever NOT anticipated? Since the time he stepped into films, audiences have been lining up to see what he has in store for them. Whether it was his romantic hero image, his villainous dark side, his sweet, boy next door charm or his recent comic avatar, whatever SRK brings to the table is surely his 100%. No wonder that fans are eager to see Shah Rukh’s most anticipated Happy New Year, which is a Farah Khan film. The last time the duo teamed up was in 2007, with Om Shanti Om, so it will be interesting to see what magic they create this time around. Happy New Year also stars SRK’s OSO and Chennai Express co-star Deepika Padukone, and the two will most certainly set the screen ablaze. Happy New Year will see a Diwali 2014 release.

Aamir Khan: Like SRK, Aamir Khan too brings his best, with every new film. Aamir is one of those rare actors who literally tries something brand new, in each films. His script choices are as diverse as chalk and cheese. Aamir will do a film like 3 Idiots, then he’ll pick up a Talaash, and polish up the basket of goodies with a Dhoom 3. He is one who has literally never stuck to one particular genre of films, so it’s always a pleasure to see what Aamir has to offer, each new year. This year, Aamir Khan will team up with Raju Hirani once again, to give us P.K. Not too much is known about the film, except that it stars Anushka Sharma and Sushant Singh Rajput, and releases in June 2014.

Salman Khan: Salman Khan has a hatke film lined up in January itself. The action-romance superstar will be seen in an altogether different avatar, in the socially relevant Jai Ho. Salman will marry the genres of action and infotainment in this film, and we’re sure audiences will love him all the more for it. This is why he is one of the most anticipated heroes this year.

Ranbir Kapoor: The newest superstar on the block, Ranbir Kapoor of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Barfi! success has great things in store, this year. Ranbir will be seen in an all-new avatar, that of a street fighter, in Anurag Kashyap’s much talked about Bombay Velvet. The dapper young Kapoor has already been training hard to play the part, and will be accompanied by Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar, who plays the villain in the film. Fans of the red-hot Kapoor scion are eagerly awaiting this one, for sure.

Ranveer Singh: The dashing Ranveer Singh will be seen in YRF’s upcoming next, Gunday. Post the smashing success of his last film, Ram Leela with Deepika Padukone, Ranveer is geared up to deliver another hit in this film. Ranveer stole our hearts away with his sensitive, nuanced performance in last year’s stellar Lootera, and so we have come to expect great things from him, albeit in a more conventional mould. Gunday looks every bit the masala film, a la the 1970’s, and his look in the film is also already being talked about.
