The year 2013 has already begun. We’ve brought to our readers lists of the top Bollywood and Hollywood films to look out for in this New Year. And now, we bring to you, our vociferous readers, our curated list of the top ‘Khan’ films to keep an eye and ear out for, this new year.

Top of our minds and hearts is, but naturally, King Khan aka Shah Rukh Khan’s 2013 offering: ‘Chennai Express’.

Recently, we unveiled the three first look posters from the film, each featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, with a gaggle of South Indian men in hot pursuit. This action-romance film, directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Gauri Khan under her production banner Red Chillies Entertainment, will see Khan and Padukone reprise their role as on-screen lovers after 5 long years; the last time we saw them together was in Farah Khan’s ‘Om Shanti Om’. Add to that, this is Shah Rukh’s maiden film with the master of action Rohit Shetty, who is a keen purveyor of rib-tickling comedy and larger-than-life action sequences. The makers haven’t yet decided on a release date for ‘Chennai Express’, but rumour has it that shooting will be wrapped up in April.

Next up are Salman Khan’s mega releases: ‘Kick’ and the sequel to ‘No Entry’, aptly titled ‘No Entry Mein Entry’. Salman fans have twice the average reason to rejoice, for they will be treated to two big-budget, super Masala films from the ‘Dabangg’ superstar’s stables.

‘Kick’ stars Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha, and will be directed and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film is still in pre-production stage, and filming will reportedly commence in June. ‘Kick’ is the remake of 2009 Telugu blockbuster of the same name, which starred southern superstar Ravi Teja and Ileana D’Cruz.

‘No Entry Mein Entry’ is the sequel to the 2005 superhit film ‘No Entry’, produced by Boney Kapoor. Anees Bazmee has been roped in to direct ‘No Entry Mein Entry’. The only stars who have signed the dotted line for ‘No Entry Mein Entry’ so far are Salman and Anil Kapoor. Shooting will reportedly begin around mid-year.

And last, but surely not the least, will be “thinking superstar” Aamir Khan’s solo 2013 release: ‘Dhoom 3’. Aamir will revisit the role of the ‘Dhoom’ series baddie, after John Abraham and Hrithik Roshan’s successful takes in the previous two installments. ‘Dhoom 3’ is written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya (of ‘Tashan’ fame) and produced by Aditya Chopra. ‘Dhoom 3’ stars Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif in lead roles as antagonists, and Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra reprising their roles as cops, in the slick action film. We’ve learnt just how hard Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif have worked for the film: Khan reportedly learnt ballet, aerobatics and the French technique of parkour, while Kaif took paragliding training and singing lessons.
