[tps_footer]Kya Dilli Kya Lahore, a comedy drama that set in the early years of independence is a story about a Pakistani soldier and an Indian army cook that stars Vijay Raaz and Raj Zutshi. Both are compelled to fight in a war between the two countries soon after the Independence.
The Wagah border remains a prerequisite national identity but way back when India and Pakistan first came to being in 1947, it was just another post, among the many dotting the no man’s land.
Vijay Raaz recently spoke about Kya Dilli Kya Lahore and said: “It is a very emotional film for me because I don’t come from the regular set-up. I just wanted to narrate the story my way. I did not lose sleep on making it commercially viable by putting in an item song. It is a very innocent story.”
They start the conversation with gun shots but a twist in the tale leads to an unlikely emotional connect. What’s ironical is the fact that Kya Dilli Kya Lahore has been shot in foreign soil, more specifically the island of Fiji.

The film’s art director Aman Vidhate, who recreated the Wagah border in Fiji, says that the team was running helter-skelter for a locale after the hot winds of Rajasthan played havoc with their plans, when someone suggested the tiny island nation.
“I travelled with a team of two to the country and I was pleasantly surprised to see that Fiji has a large Indian-origin population which understood Hindi and made life a lot easier,” said the set director whose previous credits include critically acclaimed films like The Darjeeling Limited and The Warrior.” informed Aman Vidhate.
The scale was minimal as the two characters exist in a small universe, which extends to a rundown compound, ramshackle barracks and a tumbling well, with the ominous barbed wire proclaiming division.
Kya Dilli Kya Lahore is all set to hit the silver screen on May 02, 2014.[/tps_footer]
