Digital marketing is one field, which no one would have thought get so much prominent in the marketing field. A few years ago, taking on digital marketing seemed a career suicide, which is why several of my friends suggested against it when I decided to explore this new field and my young age didn’t help either. Nevertheless, I took courage and started exploring digital marketing. Over the years I have learned a lot of things that have completely changed my life. Today, I’m going to share my experience with you, which will tell how digital marketing has changed my life.
Be Brave and Take Risk, it’s absolutely fine
I’m not someone who likes to do the normal everyday job and I was always looking to do something different that would feel good. If you are looking to do something, you should go for it. Don’t think much about the result whether you’ll succeed or fail, just go for it. For instance, I left my home town at a very young age to explore the city of dreams Mumbai. I landed in Mumbai struggled to manage my daily expenditure but never left hope. I kept working with the utmost honesty and passion and see where I’m now. Doing something new will make you feel, you worth something and it’s the best feeling in the world.
Don’t waste your youth, live like no one is watching
We only get one life so there is no point in wasting it away. Therefore, I started working with Filmymantra, a leading entertainment portal based in Mumbai. I started as manager of social media handles of the company and went on to become the COO of the firm in the shortest period of time. At Filmymantra, I have also designed a promotional campaign for top Bollywood films like Aishwarya Rai and Randeep Hooda starrer Sarbjit along with Irrfan Khan’s social thriller Madaari. Currently, I have ventured into filmmaking and produced several videos for YouTube.
Don’t be afraid of failure, it’s okay
Working in digital marketing is not an easy task, as it keeps changing every passing day. There is no secret formula that you can apply. When I first joined the company, I didn’t know which things to do first, as I had so many ideas. Nothing was giving me results as I was expecting. As I was young, no one would take me seriously. However beating all the odds, I took up the challenge and made my way to the top of my firm. Currently, several projects are in pipeline. All the failures in my life have made me stronger and more determined.
Trust your instinct
Being India’s youngest entrepreneur, I have realized that focusing on what your instinct tells you is the most important. You simply can’t follow the try and tested formula, you’ll have to be innovative and try new things every now and then. The following someone will never get you to the top, you’ll be on top if you are being followed by someone, not other way around. This will not happen all of a sudden, you’ll have to do something special. Follow your inner voice, it will take you to the next level.
Dedication
It does sound something you have been hearing from all your friends and family members, but it is true. When you decide to do something, you’ll have to give your 100 percent. No matter how difficult the situation gets, you’ll have to give it all. Dedication is the most important thing for success. If you hit a roadblock, be patient and keep working.
In the end, my work in digital marketing has taught me a lot and now I can easily say that following my passion has made what I am today.
