Yes you heard it right, ace filmmaker Steven Spielberg has produced a romantic period drama film titled – The Light Between Oceans which releases in India on 16th September 2016.
The film has Oscar-nominated actor Michael Fassbender & Swedish actress Alicia Vikander in lead roles, whereas Rachel Weisz will be seen in a supporting role.
The film revolves around a soldier who has returned after fighting in the western trenches of World War I in Europe. He and his wife locate to a sequestered lighthouse, where they stay happily for several years. After some time a baby girl washes up ashore in a life boat.
They take care of the child and informally adopt it, and after several years they return to the mainland where the girl’s real mother comes in the plot and tragedy begins.
The Light Between Oceans is a movie which showcases all shades of human feeling like love, melancholy, parental love, moral dilemma etc.
The Light between Oceans had its world premiere at the 73rd Venice International Film Festival on September 1, 2016, where it competed for the Golden Lion.
The film has been backed by the powerful performances of Michael Fassbender, Alicia Vikander, & Rachel Weisz. The films storyline has also been praised.
