Miss World To Bollywood: Diana Hayden’s Prolific Journey

049[tps_footer]Beauty pageant winners in India seem to have a real penchant for the glamour world. In the past, Bollywood has welcomed with open arms, girls who’ve bagged local and International pageant titles. And Diana Hayden is no exception.

Model-turned-actress Diana Hayden was born on May 01, 1973, in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. The pretty young girl finished her schooling from St. Anne’s High School, in Secunderabad. She then studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, in London, thus paving the way for her future career in the movies.

Diana is an Anglo-Indian whose professional career began when she worked for an event management company called Encore. She then switched lines, and got into PR. She managed the singer Anaida, who pushed her to try for modelling and acting.

Her beauty, coupled with her intelligence, also led her to winning the Miss World crown the following year. Diana Hayden is the third Indian woman to be crowned Miss World, after Reita Faria and Aishwarya Rai.

In 2001, Diana Hayden made her on screen debut with a South African adaptation of Shakespeare’s Othello. A couple of years later, Bollywood came calling, and she was seen in the film Ab Bas in 2004. She’s only done a few other films in the past few years, and is known mainly for her philanthropy work.

The forty year old beauty queen is married to an American, Colin Dick, and lives in Mumbai with her husband.[/tps_footer]
