[tps_footer]Sooraj Pancholi‘s parents Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab are very upset with Rabiya Khan, the mother of Jiah Khan and have filed a Rs. 100 crore defamation suit in the Bombay High Court against her.
Sooraj Pancholi is facing charges of abetting the suicide of Jiah Khan. On Thursday, July 03, 2014, the high court had transferred the probe from Mumbai police to CBI, while hearing Rabiya Khan‘s plea, asking the agency to find out whether it was a case of suicide or homicide.
The suit, filed by Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, was heard by Justice S.C. Gupte who asked the plaintiffs on Friday (July 04, 2014) to serve a notice on Rabiya Khan and posted the matter for further hearing on July 09, 2014.
The suit, filed by the Aditya, Zarina and their daughter Sana, alleged that Rabiya Khan, had posted slanderous, defamatory and abusive comments on twitter which had put the Pancholi family in poor light in the eyes of the society.
The suit referred to eighteen tweets posted by Rabiya Khan between March 04, 2014 and May 01, 2014 which it said were defamatory to the Pancholi’s. It said in these eighteen, Rabiya had allegedly made personal comments about the three members of Pancholi family.
“So far, we have not got any notice but we know that the suit has been filed and would be heard on Wednesday (July 09, 2014),” said Rabiya Khan‘s lawyer Dinesh Tiwari.
In her letter to Sooraj before her death, Jiah Khan had written, “I have nothing to lose. I’ve already lost everything. If you’re reading this, I might have already left or be about to leave. I am broken inside. You may not have known this but you affected me deeply to a point where I lost myself in loving you. Yet you tortured me everyday. These days, I see no light. I wake up not wanting to wake up. There was a time I saw my life with you, a future with you. But you shattered my dreams. I feel dead inside. I’ve never given so much of myself to someone or cared so much. You returned my love with cheating and lies.”
The CBI is reportedly likely to examine Sooraj Pancholi, who was in a relationship with Jiah and his actor father Aditya Pancholi. If required, they may be put through a lie-detector test.[/tps_footer]
