MUMBAI: Whenever the hit jodi of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif came on screen in films like ‘Partner’, ‘Maine Pyar Kyon Kiya’, ‘Yuvvraaj’ and the small cameo scene in ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani,’ they have won hearts of audiences with their chemistry.
That might not quite be the case with their films, but both Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif are acknowledged for their on screen and off screen chemistry. Their off screen pairing might have ended long back, but here’s a reason for Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif fans to rejoice.
The couple will be sharing screen space again in an item song for Saawan Kumar’s sequel of 1983 classic ‘Souten’.
Saawan Kumar, also known as Saawan Kumar Tak, has in the past directed films like ‘Sanam Bewafa’, ‘Chaand Ka Tukada’, which starred Salman Khan. It is because of the rapport that Salman Khan shares with Saawan Kumar, the director approached the star to make an appearance in his film with Katrina Kaif.
Salman Khan, earlier also had made an appearance in the director’s last film ‘Saawan – The Love Season’ which sank without a trace.
A source close to the filmmaker says, “’Souten’ had great tracks like ‘shayad meri shaadi ka khayal’ but the sequel will have different music.”
It will be interesting to see if the pairing of Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan, even if it is just for a song will lift the career of the filmmaker.
