However, with historical films, the makers have to be extra careful about the content and the execution of the movie. Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali who is an expert of detailing and research has for the first time fallen in a hassle for his incomplete study and research for the film ‘Bajirao Mastani’.

The film ‘Bajirao Mastani’ is based on the life of the warrior Peshwa Bajirao. The central character will be played by Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra will be seen as Kashibai (Bajirao’s first wife) whereas Deepika Padukone will portray the role of Mastani (Bajirao’s second wife). Just after the release of the deep rooted song Pinga, controversies have surrounded the film like never before.
Several people including the descendants of the Peshwa family have urged that the song is not well researched upon and is misleading in terms of portrayal of history. According to reports, Bajirao’s descendant Prasadrao Peshwa has written a letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to analyze the yet to be released film and has also urged him to investigate into the projection of facts and ideas in the film.

The excerpts of the letter stated, “It has been found out that the said cinema in the name of cinematic liberty has altered original history. So also, a song has been picturised on the wives of Shrimant Bajirao Peshwa I, Kashibai and Mastani. This incident is not keeping in line with the history.”
Further Prasadrao also urged in letter, “Moreover, the Pinga dance form is an integral part of Marathi culture and has been transformed into an item song and the costumes and dance direction are on those lines.”

Prasadrao further suggested in the letter to CM saying, “As I could not withstand the insult of Maratha history, Marathi ethos and Indian culture, I am making this appeal to you that the Maharashtra government pay attention, review the entire film, and with proper inquiry arrive at an appropriate decision.”
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s most ambitious work ‘Bajirao Mastani’ is all set to release on December 18th, 2015. Well all we hope is that the matter gets resolved peacefully.
