It is indeed the clash of titans for the title of the top endorser. Bollywood’s top celebs, Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Deepika Padukone have a tiff neck to neck competition when it comes to brand endorsements.
The first few months of 2014 saw our very own Barfi boy Ranbir Kapoor top the charts in terms of celebrity endorsements, with a 5 percent ad volume share, as per data shared by the country’s leading advertising monitoring unit for television, print and radio. There are very few youth icons in India and Ranbir Kapoor remains to be a certain choice for youth brands, for brands that want to capitalise on infectious youthful energy, Kapoor is the obvious pick.
The list of top endorsers of B-town also features two of Bollywood’s most cited actresses Kareena Kapoor Khan and Deepika Padukone. Both the ladies have huge brand giants in their kitty for endorsements. Well Deepika Padukone after giving a string of back to back to box office hits last year is apparently the new brand endorsements queen. The leggy lass of Bollywood endorses brands such as Kellog’s Special K, she is also endorsing Coke brand along with actor Farhan Akhtar, she has also been a prominent face of Neutrogena and Sony Cybershot. The list doesn’t end here for Deepika Padukone, she has lately taken up endorsements for Axis Bank.
Kareena Kapoor Khan a brand status in itself endorses prominent and established brands like Anne French, Citizen Watches, Boro Plus Cream, Head & Shoulders, Sony Vaio and Globus. Well it saddens us to realise the fact that Bebo’s brand identity soon will be replaced by her contemporary actresses.
The list of top endorsers also has names of Amitabh Bachchan, Virat Kohli, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan. Most of the top actors are neck to neck in ad volume share and they beat each other with a difference of decimal points.
