Bollywood is now keen in making movies that are based on the historic family or events. With Ashutosh Gowariker’s Mohenjo Daro and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani, the film industry is coming up with films based on the real life events from 20’s era.
Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali who is coming up with film Bajirao Mastani starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles, celebrated the 315th birth anniversary of Maratha warrior Bajirao Peshwa I.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali had organised a lavish lunch for the 12th generation descendants of the Peshwa ruler that included the 10th and 11 generation of the Maratha leader – Baji Rao I.
Actor Ranveer Singh who will be playing the role of Baji Rao I also visited to meet Peshwa family along with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. SLB had arranged a special visit for the whole family on the sets of the film in Pune.
Based on the life of Peshwa Bajirao; Bajirao Mastani is a historical romantic drama. Glamorous diva Priyanka will be seen essaying the role of Peshwa’s first wife Kashibai whereas Deepika will be playing the character of second wife Mastani.
Bajirao Mastani is a dream project of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and is also garnering lots of attention after Ranveer and Deepika’s amazing chemistry in their film Ram Leela, the audience is curious to witness the same in the film Bajirao Mastani also. The film is slated to release on December 18, 2015.
