The film is mainly about the journey of justice for the women who have been victimised by domestic violence and rape.
Also, the filmmakers say that we as citizens have failed to overcome the struggles of women and so it makes the film important to come up and enhance awareness about the usual struggles.
Apparently, the film ‘The mother’ was earlier titled as ‘Matr’.
Well! When Raveena Tandon was asked about the film and her choice on it, this is what she had to say:
“I found the script very gratifying, as it showed how one can deal with criminals indulging in crime against women while remaining on the right side of the law. As a society, we need to change our laws to protect women,” Raveena had said.
Films like such strong content are usually offered to actresses who have lived longer in the industry.
Having Aishwarya in Sarbjit, Sridevi in English Vinglish and Rani Mukerjee in Mardani, it was now the chance for Raveena Tandon to be highlighted in this genre of films that talk about women’s struggles.
