Sanjay Leela Bhansali is in the news for his next magnum opus Padmavati, starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Shahid Kapoor in lead roles. The film has been facing a lot of issues for a while now. From casting to fulfilling actors’ demands, Sanjay has to deal with many issues that came in between the film. Well, although the cast is now finalised, the movie has not yet hit the floors.
According to sources, the film’s shoot is getting delayed because of financial issues. SLB’s last two films, Ram-Leela and Bajirao Mastani were produced by Eros International. Now, a buzz is that Padmavati will be produced by the two production houses, Eros and Viacom 18. SLB had collaborated with these two in 2014 for Mary Kom.
Reportedly, the overall budget of Padmavati is 150 crores approximately. Well, Sanjay is known for making films that are grand and larger than life, and he is best in what he does. Now we have to wait for this financial issue to sort out soon so that the shooting can commence and we get to see the film next year soon.
In Padmavati, Deepika is playing the role of Rani Padmavati, whereas Shahid will be playing her husband Raja Rawal Ratan Singh. On the other hand, Ranveer is playing her obsessed lover Alauddin Khilji. Apparently, Ranveer’s character will be obsessed with Deepika, also she will be hating him in the film. Also, there might not be a single screen space shared between Ranveer and Deepika. The film is supposedly releasing on December 15, 2017.
