The team of ‘Shamitabh’ paid a tribute to Ravindranath Tagore at the ancestral home of Tagore in Kolkata. Bollywood’s Shahenshah Amitabh Bachchan sang the National Anthem on the 66th Republic Day of India as a tribute to Ravindranath Tagore.
Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Shamitabh’ team also shot a video at Jorasanko in Kolkata as a dedication to the nation. Big B took to his Twitter account. He Tweeted, “Let me know what you think of the Anthem .. it is at the ancestral home of Gurudev Rabindra Nath Tagore, who composed and wrote it”.

The director of the film ‘Shamitabh’, R Balki gave the further details about the tribute video, “Bachchan shot the video while in the city for Shamitabh’s promotional tour, it is a tribute to the world renowned poet and writer and will be dedicated to the country.”
This is for the very first time that the National Anthem has been filmed at the home of its creator. Amitabh Bachchan sang the song beautifully and with perfection.
It is also rumoured that Amitabh Bachchan has been invited to the banquet in honour of USA President Mr Obama at Rashtrapati Bhawan tonight. However, the rumour isn’t confirmed by Big B or anyone officially.
