[tps_footer]Rohit Shetty is definitely one of Bollywood’s more poignant success stories. While he may be known for his over the top, ridiculously impossible and slapstick comedy movies, there is a lot more to the director than what meets the eye. The 42 year old actor is known across the Industry as a quiet and simple man who is very generous and has a heart of gold. Many believe that Shetty’s rough childhood has made him into the generous man that he is.
Well, in what is a proof of his large heartedness, the ‘Golmaal’ director has gone ahead and taken the commendable step of adopting as many as 10 cancer stricken children. The director is going to be the person looking after the expenses of all these children that largely includes the cost of their treatment and medicines as well as care and rehabilitation. When asked about this new development in his life, the director confirmed that this adoption was not a onetime event. He added that he would be making it a point to adopt new cancer patients each year.
What is commendable is the fact that the director has chosen this noble cause as his preferred means of giving back. In other news, the director was one of the many people from Bollywood who were supporting the team of ‘Udta Punjab’ in their fight to keep the movie without unnecessary Censor Board cuts.
On the professional front, Shetty’s last film ‘Dilwale’ did exceptionally well in cinemas thanks to the evergreen lead pair of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.[/tps_footer]
