Year 2014 has begun on an INJURED NOTE for Bollywood as a lot of actors have been getting hurt or suffering from injuries while shooting. First came in reports of Shah Rukh Khan who got injured while shooting for Farha Khan’s Happy New Year.
Shah Rukh Khan was seriously injured when a heavy 10×5 door fell on him. Luckily he dodged the door, but his left knee patella and his already damaged right shoulder took the weight of the heavy door.
Post the incident an official statement from Shah Rukh’s office read: “Shah Rukh Khan had a minor accident on the sets while shooting. He has a minor injury and has got the necessary medical aid. He is absolutely fine now. Thank you for all your wishes!”
Shahid Kapoor and Irrfan Khan were attacked with a fire pot while the duo was shooting for Vishal Bharadwaj’s Haider in Kashmir.
A source at the location said, “The shooting was in progress and both Shahid Kapoor and Irrfan were moving towards a car when suddenly somebody from crowd threw a Kangri (fire pot) which hit Irrfan and the ash whirling in air touched Shahid Kapoor as well,” he said.
One of the crewmembers said that the incident took place while they were shooting for a kidnapping sequence in the film. The source said that soon after the incident spectators started fleeing from the spot.
The cast and crew of Haider returned to the valley on January 27, 2014. This is the last phase of the shooting for the film here. The crew will be in Kashmir for about a month now.
Ameesha Patel too got injured and hurt her knee while shooting an action sequence for an upcoming film.
A doctor was immediately summoned on the sets and Ameesha was administered medicines and injections. She has been advised bed rest for a week.
Lastly it was Arshad Warsi, who recently suffered a near-fatal head injury when he was shooting for his upcoming film The Legend of Michael Mishra.
However, to his good fortune, someone in the unit had placed a mattress on the trolley, which saved him from major injury. Arshad was already suffering from a headache prior to the shoot, and was taking painkillers.
Arshad confirmed the incident and said, “The pain caused by the incident was really bad and I am taking rest now. The doctors have now advised me to get a CT scan done, which I will do soon.”
Here’s wishing all of them a speedy recovery and hoping such incidences do not happen in future.
