After Kolkata Knight Riders and the Trinbago Knight Riders, Shah Rukh Khan plans to buy a South African T20 team
The partnership of Shah Rukh Khan and ‘Kolkata Knight Riders’ is quite well known all over the country and during the IPL season, KKR ranges among the top performing teams. Khan is also known for his ownership of the ‘Trinbago Knight Riders’ which is a franchise cricket team of the Caribbean Premier League based in Port of Spain, Trinidad, and Tobago.

Shah Rukh Khan doesn’t seem to be satisfied even when he owns two cricket teams because if reports are to be believed, he is set to buy a new cricket team in South African Premier League. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the team that he is going to buy is not exactly a South African Premier League but ‘T20 Global League South Africa’.
It was also reported that SRK’s sports management has been in talks with the Cricket South Africa (CSA) and the star has shown interest in buying a team in either Cape Town or Johannesburg. The report also said that Khan sent his emissary to South Africa for discussion of the same who brought to the table SRK’s brand value that has boosted KKR’s popularity. Though confirmation on the particular situation awaits, the owners of the eight new teams of the T20 Global League South Africa will be announced at the Lords Cricket Stadium in London on June 19.
