MUMBAI: Unfortunately, Shah Rukh Khan’s make-up man Ravi Indulkar, fondly known in the Industry as Ravi dada, expired late afternoon on Wednesday, October 17.
The make-up maestro, who was suffering from lung disease for several days prior, passed away at the Kokilaben Hospital. SRK informed the world about the demise of his beloved friend and makeup man of over a decade, by tweeting, “My friend, father figure & make up dada, Ravi Indulkar passed away today. Feel a part of my life has been extinguished. Miss u Dada…”
The funeral was held at the Amboli Crematorium last night, with SRK attending the last rites.
SRK was deeply moved by the sad news and tweeted his feelings, “The first smile I used to see was of Ravi dada, who touched my face gently in the morn & would hide it from the glare of the world. Laid him to rest.” Jab Tak Hai Jaan was Ravi Dada’s last film with SRK.
Other celebrities too, displayed their heartfelt condolences to Indulkar’s bereaved family, including Khan’s close friends Karan Johar and Arjun Rampal.
Johar tweeted his condolences, “RIP Ravi dada….he was always extremely kind to me when I was an assistant in DDLJ…and I have so many wonderful memories of him….”
Rampal tweeted, “Oh no just heard about Ravi Dada @iamsrk make up artist. Such a wonderful, positive man with such lovely energy. God bless his soul.”
